Crystal Diner in Toms River

I've been coming here for years and I love this place I've never had a bad meal here. This is a typical jersey diner with your shiny mirror decor every where . It's very well kept and clean. The menu is typical of a jersey diner with burgers, salads, sandwiches, dessert, kids entrees, etc. This is a great stop before you get on the parkway and deal with that crazy traffic lol.

It was my first time, and it’ll be my last! Food was horrible. Worst diner food ever experienced! Don’t waste your money, pick another diner.

MY FRIEND GOT BAD FOOD POISONING AND WONT STOP THROWING UP AND ITS THIS PLACE THAT DID IT TO HER SO I WOULD NOT GO HERE FOR FOOD!! HER BREAD PUDDING TASTED LIKE CHEMICALS AND HER CHEESEBURGER TASTED VERY COLD AND DRY AND WAISTED SO MUCH MONEY!! AGAIN DONT GO HERE!! UNLESS YOU WANT FOOD POISONING

Passing through this morning. We were greeted by the friendliest waitress ever. We.sat outside..ordered breakfast....everything was served in disposable containers. Very safe and sanitary. Food was delicious. The waitress went above and beyond to accommodate us. Left feeling very satisfied.

Overpriced and I did seek employment there. Theirs a big CLIQUE AMONGST THE DINER.

Food was ok the staff was very friendly and polite. The server was on point. She was an Asian girl from philly. She was sweet and punctual.

The Crystal Diner is a great little diner in a really convenient location. The food here was excellent especially for diner food. It's very clean and the staff here is very friendly and helpful.

If I could give 1 star I would I went to the crystal dinner today to pick up my lunch I order 1 cheeseburger.when the waitress came out and handed me a receipt that stated that my bill was $17.00. I gave the women the money and a $5.00 tip and left..still confused I called back to speak with the manger and the owner had answered the phone I asked how that could be he charged me $14.00 plus a “3.00 convince fee” I asked what the fee was for and asked if it at least went to the waitresses and I was told that it goes to the owner ....... NEVER AGAIN WILL I GO THERE . $20.00 for a horrible burger no Thankyou

My wife said they have the best tuna salad sandwich she has ever tasted - even better than mine. I've had breakfast there twice and a bottomless coffee. The hosts aren't so friendly but the wait staff is superb. That's what counts along with the food.

Melinda is the best hostess/waitress! Food is always delicious and decently priced. The Crystal Diner will always be a late night snack for me. The pizza fries are to die for.

Quick seating, friendly staff. Booths are a little cramped when seating 4. Burger cooked properly to medium.

The waitress was very rude and point blank refused to understand about my wife and I having a gluten free diet. And also pointing out that the surcharge was added automatically. Yes it's American. But she did not deserve any tip. If family weren't there I would have walked out.

Portions are huge. Food is average. Service very good. Not very busy at dinnertime. Had meatloaf, mashed potatoes, soup. Potatoes were not fresh.Father had pork loin, dressing, baked potato, salad. Salad was fresh, baked potato was burnt, like black, sent it back, pork loin was delicious.

Outdoor seating was ok,but the service was slow

Food is great and the variety is wonderful. I would have given this place 5 stars but my experience yesterday tarnished the overall opinion a bit. I had ordered pick up and a gentleman was working the front. He had short changed me and then when I approached him on it he had treated me like I had a hidden agenda. I paid 100 for a 48 dollar order and was given 41 dollars back. I told him the error and he makes these comments. “So you think I didn’t give you the right amount of change?” I replied I don’t think.. I know... he then gives me the 10 he left out and makes a snarky comment “Well I hope my register isn’t dollars short now.” When I left he also walked out the front door I guess to get my license plate like I’m so type of criminal. I guess I’m going to consider going to another diner in the future. It’s a shame because I order there a lot and feel like I was treated unfairly for his mistake.

Great food great prices and great staff

Classic Neon Jersey Diner!!! Plenty of seating. Very bright and clean. We were seated quickly. Our food came out quick. It was hot and fresh and delish. Friendly waitress. Overall great experience. We ordered two dinner specials: Prime Rib and Shrimp & Scallop Scampi. And ordered a Santa Fe Burger. Generous portions. Specials came with dessert. We picked rice pudding. Yum! Prices were good too. Great choice for after a day at the beach on the way home. Right off RT 37. Very close to Parkway to head home.

Good food prices are good,unless you pay by credit card they charge you ,4% to use it ,not good

Food is pretty good but typical diner fare. Dining area reminds me more of a cafetorium.

Stopped in for a quick bite while doing errands in the area. I ordered a chicken triple decker sandwich with fries. What could go wrong with that? Well...the chicken breast was cut so thick my sandwich fell apart and the fries were under cooked to the point of hanging over the side of the plate in a limp heap. The place was almost empty during lunch time which is significant due to the busy location & plenty of local business. The waitress was attentive in refilling our coffee. Probably will not return as there are plenty of options in the area.

Such a cool place! They have so many menu options and all the food was delicious. Our server was awesome. The inside of the place is groovy and reminds me of an old movie theater. At night the outside is all lit up and looks so cool. Prices were not bad as well. I reccomend this place for a quick bite!

A $2.99 Covid Fee per person added to your bill at the end. Trying to do a nice thing giving local diner business and they charge a Covid fee!? Give me a break!

This diner was very clean. The service was fast and the server had a great sense of humor. The food of course was delicious.

Ordered delivery. Cheeseburger had a hair in it. The fries tasted like burnt grease. But the best of all was the cheesecake...halfway through eating it...it tasted a little sour...decided to turn the piece over only to find out that the entire bottom of the cake was covered in green and white mold...I called the diner...a woman answered...I told her what happened...she said she'd put me on with the manager...I was put on hold for like five minutes...she gets back on and said that the manager was "too busy" to speak to me...so she took down my information and said the manager would call me back...I'm sure you can already guess that nobody ever called me back. Truly disgusting. Bad customer service. Nastiest food experience in a long time.

Me and my best friend came here for his birthday on Tuesday. The waitress was super nice, very helpful and professional. I was very impressed with service me and my friend had. This restaurant I must say is very clean as well as the bathroom. The food was great beyond my expectations. I will definitely be coming back here this summer and next year too.

It was okay omelette a little dry and toast definitely overcooked brown. Just below average... the reason for the 2 stars instead of 3 for average is the small sign you see after paying with a credit card is the 4 percent convenience fee added to all credit card charges. It should be on the entry doors if you are going to charge it! That way you can decide in advance if it is convenient to go someplace else. There are lots of other choices in the area! Just didn't feel give off a friendly feeling!

This is a nice diner. Clean and new inside. The staff was friendly and they were very attentive. The waitress came by to refill my coffee often. Breakfast was good. I would definitely come back here again.

Been past here like hundreds of times visiting Seaside but only just went for the first time last week. Loved it. I got exactly what I asked for and it was cooked how I wanted it. Sat morn at 830 was quiet and food came out quickly. SO I will go back and try some other stuff next time.

Good service and the portions are decent and the food is good. I ordered the Oriental chicken salad which was good. They also serve breakfast food anytime of the day.

I just moved to Toms River a few weeks ago, and initially loved this place. My order was generally the same every morning, without fail. Bacon was always perfectly crisp, and the rye toast was always generously buttered and presented with great pride with a delicious grape jelly. Perhaps it's the server, and I have had the same server the last few days, but my toast has come out only barely toasted at all, and butter was served on the side, frozen. She apologized when I complained. Today, she took my same order, but this time the bread was even less toasted, and no butter offered at all. Dare I say anything at all, or might I expect the issue to escalate to barely cooked bacon? Today, I ended my visit with a to-go order for a BLT on toasted white bread. When I unwrapped the sandwich later I found that the bread had only been barely toasted, to the point that one must wonder if the bread was toasted or stale. I supposed my mornings will be spend elsewhere from now on.

Loves this diner. We are from FL and just love diners and this was our favorite by far! The restaurant was clean, service was great, and the food was delicious. We have a big family so it was affordable. I definitely recommend this place!!

I went there and had a burger, it was cooked right. waited a little bit for anyone to acknowledge us after sitting. Went to go put ketchup on my plate and it was brown, kind of tasted like bbq sauce. Went and took a ketchup off a different table, looked better but tasted old and stale. Dad ordered a burger as well and came out over done. onion rings were over-greasy. the fries were the best part of the meal. wasn’t asked if i wanted any refills on water. Wasn’t given napkins. When checking out, was only told our total and the man collected his money. wasn’t ever checked on or told to have a nice day.

Excellent place. This is NJ diner. Food was fantastic oversized plates at a great price. Servers are friendly and attentive. Highly recommend.

Christmas dinner was great. My family and I were there last week for lunch and had the Texas burger. Terrible dried out and the fries were cold. Sent everything back. 😝

Love this place. We stop for a meal every time we return from the shore. It's our favorite diner

The diner is nice and the food is fine. The service is typical for a diner. I met a friend for an hour there and we had coffee and dessert. The waitress wanted us out and brought over the check when SHE determined we would not like anything else, and didn't come over to ask if we needed more coffee. I can understand if they were busy but there were countless open booths and tables in this woman's section. I worked in diners and the service industry for years and know how people should be serviced.
